Suited and Booted

in

'Pancakes'  - bird 60  - Ring Combination Yellow-White-Blue.

The last few days have seen the young cranes fitted with their colour rings and some also fitted with GPS back-packs and leg-mounted Satellite tags.

They are intruiged by their new 'bling' and make a very pleasing gentle rattle as they stut around the rearing pens!

 Bird 54, Blue-Red-Blue fitted with a state-of-the-art leg mounted solar-powered satellite transmitter.

It has been a tricky year, with the wet weather and lack of sunshine through most of June and July adding to the rearing difficulties and we are currently awaiting the results of their final batch of blood tests before they are moved down to Somerset - which is looking likely to be at the end of August or early September.

More soon!
