New crane viewing dates!

The RSPB is running five additional 'Dates with the cranes'. These events will include: 



  • a talk about the Great Crane Project 

  • an escorted trip to a secret lookout to see the flock of approximately thirty wild cranes. Own transport essential for trip to crane lookout. 

  • soup and a hot drink 

  • a chance to see a chapter of the RSPB’s hit crane film 'Born to Fly'.

Price: £12.50 pp. £5.50 deposit required. £7 balance payable on the day (£2 donation to local hospice/£5 to the RSPB).

Location: Meet at the Willow and Wetlands Centre, Stoke Saint Gregory TA3 6HY.

Amy King and Harry Nevard are the 2011 crane parents and their roles are to rear and nurture the young cranes to adulthood. Amy has previously worked on the cranes in 2010 and Harry has worked with Sarus and Brolgas in Australia and cranes and crakes at Pensthorpe. Prior to Harry's involvement Roland Digby worked on the cranes for the first year of the project.
