Strutting on The Tack Piece

The WWT Reserve at Slimbridge is currently proving a fantastic place to witness some pre-season strutting, posturing, and general crane shenanigans!

Fantastic photo of the pair Monty & Sedge, the trio Oakie and his two suiters Cotton and Evie (hope they sort that out soon!), and the new-comer - another female, and one of the youngest cohort of release birds from 2014 - Chip, who flies with one leg at an odd dangle angle.

Damon’s role is to act as the hub of the project - making sure everyone involved knows what is going on and that it is all running smoothly. He is also responsible for project community awareness work in Somerset, construction of the release enclosure, and running the post release monitoring work in Somerset.  Damon works alongside the RSPB reserve teams in Somerset.
