Schools Crane Twinning Project!
In his last blog Damon talked about his recent visit to Brandenburg in Germany which is the area where the crane eggs that are brought to Slimbridge come from so the Great Crane project has very important links with the team and area out there. Another exciting project that has developed from this is the twinning of two local schools - Freies Joachimsthaler Gymnasium in Germany at the heart of the Biosphere Reserve and Huish Episcopi school at the heart of the Somerset Levels! Artist Melanie Tomlinson travelled to Germany with Damon to deliver some Crane Art workshops at the school and visited Huish Episcopi school on her return to run the same workshops here!
Here are some of the amazing wetland inspired metal dioramas that were created by pupils aged 13-14 years old during the work shops! - To find out more about the trip and the twinning project read Melanies blog on 'The Company of Cranes' website - http://www.thecompanyofcranes.blogspot.co.uk/
