Songs and Signs

...well perhaps not so much a song, as a noisy bugling noise.....

Despite the cold frosty mornings, signs of Spring are all around and quite a few pairs of cranes are starting to form here on the Somerset Levels and Moors.

Early indications suggest the following possible pairings....  Midnight & Gemma ; Bombus and Bop-bop; Wycliffe & Maple; Mennis & Swampy; Cosmo & Pippa; Legend & Elle.... but at this early stage of Spring it's all to play for  and the birds are regularly involved in battles and general rumpus as they establish their pair bonds.

Damon’s role is to act as the hub of the project - making sure everyone involved knows what is going on and that it is all running smoothly. He is also responsible for project community awareness work in Somerset, construction of the release enclosure, and running the post release monitoring work in Somerset.  Damon works alongside the RSPB reserve teams in Somerset.
