Manfred takes a trip

One of the 2013 cohort, ringed Green Red Yellow and nicknamed Manfred, has been steadily heading north over the last few days.  We have been able to track his progress through a leg-mounted Eco-tone data logger tag, which communicates via mobile phone network.  He is currently in the Staffordshire area, and has been seen flying over Aqualate Mere by local birders, in the company of another crane.    We're all wondering where he's off to next !  Watch this space....

Damon’s role is to act as the hub of the project - making sure everyone involved knows what is going on and that it is all running smoothly. He is also responsible for project community awareness work in Somerset, construction of the release enclosure, and running the post release monitoring work in Somerset.  Damon works alongside the RSPB reserve teams in Somerset.
