" The Flying V "
Here are 68 of Somerset's Cranes cruising at a couple of hundred feet, taken in early November by one of the monitoring team - Alison Morgan. The cranes have been using maize stubbles and pasture on Kingsmoor, near Illchester, as well as their more 'usual' haunts of West Sedgemoor, and Aller Moor this month. In recent days they have also been frequently out on Southlake Moor and viewable (with a telescope! ) from the wonderful Burrow Mump at Burrowbridge. A great place for a beer and some food at the bottom of the hill at The King Alfred too... where you can also check out the recent dredging works on the River Parrett.
