The Crane Soundscape

This is a snippet of a much longer soundtrack that is played on a loop to the young cranes.  It is designed to provide some of the sounds that the young birds will be likely to hear when in their enclosure on the Somerset Levels and Moors.  This kind of auditory imprinting might help the birds adapt quicker once they are transferred to Somerset and could make them less likely to react adversely to new sounds.  The longer soundtrack includes such items as helicopters, and tractors.

It has the added bonus of hiding the background sounds of the crane school, and prevents imprinting on e.g. the hushed voices of Roland and Amy as they go about their work.
