Character profile:

January 2015: Yellow Blue Black (Gary) was a rather small, skinny, clingy crane as a chick  - but is also sweet natured and gentle. He has no siblings.  He has become a core part of this year's cohort but can still be a little beggy. He became one of the 'Kingsmoor 9' - the breakaway group of 9 youngsters that spent most of December on Kingsmoor to the west of Illchester. Rather than return with this group at the end of December, Gary has remained with Pepe and some of the older birds in the Wetmoor area near Muchelney. July 2015: Gary has spent the spring and summer mainly feeding on Nortmoor (Aller) and Northmoor near East Lyng, and roosting most of the time on West Sedgemoor.  The whole non-breeding flock appear to be thriving on the Levels and Moors this year. February 2016: Gary spent a rather unremarkable  autumn and winter of 2015/16 on the Somerset Levels and Moors spending time in a flock that fed on the whole across Wetmoor, Aller moor, and West Sedgemoor. He is likely to remain as part of the non-breeding flock through the coming Spring and Summer.  Nov 17:  Seen early in the year with Acorn but after that disappeared.  He has rejoined the flock for the Winter.
